I hope you all had a wonderful week! We had the past two days off of school, so that's been absolutely terrific! I'll be sending out one of my college applications on Sunday, and then perhaps my mom and I will check out a new boutique! What are you gonna be doing this weekend? Buying a killer pair of leopard pumps? Playing with your pup? Developing some film? Do tell!

Swarovski crystal cuff links

Today is Al's birthday (happy birthday!), and I'm sure that he'd love to get a new pair of nifty cuff links. I'm not sure what he'd think of these, but I just love them because they remind me of sparkly stud earrings!

Colorful summer style wedding

Look how exciting and colorful this "Summer BBQ Party" wedding is! I really love that the bridesmaids wore different dresses and that the groomsmen wore different ties...it all works so well! Would you have an outdoor wedding?

Cape coats

I love cape coats! They're just so impossibly chic and move so wonderfully when you walk. I'd love to wear mine with tall boots and long leather gloves. It's not exactly chilly enough to wear one just yet, but I sure hope I can find one before it starts getting cold! Would you wear a cape coat?

I couldn't believe my eyes when I came across these amazing ruffled felt scarves a couple of months ago. I just think they'd look so funky and cozy wrapped around my neck this fall.

Have a comforting weekend

Once again, happy first day of autumn (for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere)! Tonight, weather permitting, I'll be attending my school's football game. Then, on either Saturday or Sunday, I'll be making my way on over to the movie theater to see The Lion King 3D! Eeeps! Can't wait!! As for the rest of the weekend, I think I'll just be basking in the autumnal glory that defines this lovely season. What are you up to? Taking advantage of the brisk weather and having yourself a nice walk? Busting out your favorite sweater dress? Coasting through the leaf-ridden streets on your bike? Do tell!

What would you wear on fall date?

Hooray! It's the first day of fall! You're so excited that you call up a
date and make plans to have an early dinner so you two can sit outside
and enjoy the autumn breeze. After hanging up, you quickly run off to
your closet to pick out something to wear. What's the first thing that
you reach for?

A crimson red mini dress, with which you'll wear grey ankle booties

and black tights.

Your favorite drapey scarf that will keep you warm for the entire

evening.

A striped column skirt to be worn with a slouchy red sweater that will

hang off your shoulder ever so slightly.

A gorgeous lace blazer that you'll accessorize with tons of gold bracelets.

Do or Don't: Socks with heels

I must say, I really love this trend and am super amped to try it, especially after seeing the amazing selection of heels at Anthropologie this month. Can you imagine how neat it would look with full skirts and slim sweaters this autumn? But, tell me your thoughts. Do you think this looks chic or silly?

What are your beauty secrets?

I try to be as natural as possible when it comes to what I put on my face and hair. A couple of months ago, I started using Fruit of the Earth Pure Aloe Vera Gel on my curly hair to make my strands soft and smooth. Not long after, I discovered that it's great for acne, too! At night, after washing my face, I apply a thin but generous layer all over my face and go to bed. In the morning, I wash it off in the shower, moisturize my face and off I go! I've found that it works just as well as, if not better than, any prescription medications I've every taken in the past. Plus, it's great for mid-day spot treatments!

Fall 2011 boot trends

Ahhhhh, fall! The most wonderful season ever will be upon us real soon, which means brilliant foliage, brisk weather and, yes, boots. In the spirit of it all, I decided to compile a list of my top five boot trends for the season. Look on:

1. Wedges have been around for quite some time now, and are carrying over from Spring/Summer 2011 into the Fall 2011 season. This season's designs, however, are much more sleek and elegant than previous years', as more women turn to the ease and versatility of a wedge boot.

2. Inspired by footwear from the Victorian era, lacing is becoming quite popular this season, and corset-like boots are bursting on to the scene as a bold and alluring option for women.

3.  Gone are the days when we were limited to buying boots in black or brown! Non-neutral boots are a perfect way to add some color to your wardrobe. If bright colors seem like too much for you, try more toned down colors, such as deep red or plum.

4. Though at times it can be difficult to wear, patent leather is still undeniably gorgeous. It's especially fitting for fall cocktail parties and evening events! 

5. Although typically considered to be edgy, this season, buckles are appearing on boots, and are looking more feminine than ever.

One of this season's most promising trends seems to be maxi skirts with thigh-high slits. They offer a perfectly ladylike way to show of your gorgeous gams in the chilly autumn weather! Would you try this daringly feminine skirt?

Gold bubbles

Don't you love these pieces? They remind me of tiny clusters of gold bubbles. They're so simple and feminine! The necklace would lay so nicely against your collar bone and the cuff would look so powerful wrapped around your wrist. But, I especially love the studs, as they'd make a wonderful addition to my earring collection, haha!
